Our products are designed in Seattle, WA. We are a certified B Corporation, a member of Climate Neutral, and a member of 1% For The Planet. As a high-scoring, certified B Corp, we must continuously meet strict third-party ethical and environmental standards along our entire supply chain, and we strive to be as transparent as possible. All drinkware and kitchenware suppliers have undergone a SMETA audit, which evaluates a company's adherence to fair labor standards. This assessment encompasses aspects such as working hours, wages, prevention of child labor, freedom of association, and protection against discrimination. This ensures that workers are treated fairly and in accordance with local labor laws. This evaluation aligns with the "Labor Standards" pillar within a SMETA audit, a widely recognized ethical trade audit methodology that emphasizes supply chain sustainability. This audit allows MiiR to verify that workers are being treated fairly.
MiiR's supply chain is structured across multiple tiers, including manufacturers, Tier 1 suppliers (raw materials) and Tier 2 suppliers (components). Currently, we maintain direct relationships with our manufacturers (listed below) and indirect relationships with our Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers. These direct relationships enable us to actively engage with our manufacturers, monitor their practices and ensure alignment with our social and environmental standards.
While visibility and oversight are more challenging with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, we remain committed to addressing these complexities. We are actively working to enhance transparency and accountability across our entire supply chain, striving to ensure fair and equitable treatment at every level. Our goal is to achieve full visibility into the standards and practices of all tiers within our supply chain by the end of 2025.
